Our Church

Pressly Church is a Bible-believing Christian church founded in 1908.  We "witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Revelation 1:2), as we seek to live and proclaim God's Word and the good news of salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ alone. 

That we are "Reformed and always reforming" means that we stand with those who have gone before us--men like Nehemiah, Josiah, Hezekiah, the apostle Paul, John Wycliff, Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, and Ebenezer Erskine, and, most importantly, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (who was both truly God and truly man).  All these men called God's people back to the Word of God, as God's all-sufficient Truth.  They taught that our minds are to be held captive to the Word of God alone.  And they emphasized our Christian liberty--that the truth of Jesus Christ has set us free from "the traditions" and "the commandments of men" (Matthew 15:3, 6-9; Mark 7:7; John 8:32). 

We believe that in His Word, God has given us "everything we need for life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3).  God's Word is the basis for all that we do.  As Christians, we seek to conform our beliefs, our worship, our families, and our lives to the Word of God alone (Romans 8:29; 12:1-2). 

Pressly Church seeks to be a welcoming family of believers of diverse ages, interests, and backgrounds.  God has called us to be a "house of prayer for all nations" and people groups (Isaiah 56:7). 

Our Pastor
Pastor Scott Siems is a graduate of Knox Theological Seminary (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) and Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana).  He has previously served churches in Charlotte and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as well as in south Florida. 

In his words, "I first sensed the call to full-time pastoral ministry when I was 18 years old.  I seek to preach and teach "the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27) and to be a faithful shepherd of God's flock that is under my care
(1 Peter 5:2).  Pressly Church is blessed to have a team of several godly men who serve as elders, who assist me in shepherding, discipling (training), and teaching God's people.

My goal in life is to be like Christ and to live a life that is pleasing to Him, helping others to know Christ's love and make Him known. 

I enjoy spending time with my wife Shannon and son Luke, who serve the Lord alongside me.  Our family enjoys to study God's Word and minister to His people.  We also enjoy God's Creation--the beauty of Iredell County, music, and recreation."
